The Institute was set up in 1989 as a computer training centre to target this market, initially with 25 to 40 local students learning short PC courses, and then moving on to Certificate level courses. As time passed student numbers grew, as did the range of study options offered by the Institute (see our comments below).

The Institute is now recognised as one of Sydney's leading IT and Business Institutes. It offers quality education and training by experienced teachers, using up-to-date teaching resources combined. The Institute has heavily invested in up-to-date facilities and equipment, especially in relation to its computer courses, so as to provide a consistently superior standard of teaching.

The Institute essentially is comprised of two sections: the School of Information Technology and the School of Business Studies. Many of our graduates then proceed to University studies where many receive advanced standing on the basis of their qualifications obtained from the Institute.

The Institute currently has approximately 650 students undertaking its various courses. The Institute is wonderfully multinational with students from Asia, Latin America, Europe and the Pacific Islands, (with approximately 50% from Europe, 35% from Asia, 10% from South America and 5% from other countries).

The Institute currently operates from Level 5 & 6, 70-72 Bathurst Street (WEA House) in the heart of the city of Sydney, within a 2 minute walking distance to Town Hall Station.
